Open up the option's for nearby places to kayak. I found many places where I could put in easily paddle for a hour or so and go home. More options than I imagined.

A handy sized, informative guide to rivers in our area. We have used this to plan numerous trips on rivers and have found the guide to be (relatively) accurate and easy to use. Having said that, we discovered (duh!) that rivers change over time and that this guide is a great STARTING point for trip planning. Good scouting and maybe talking to people with experience on the river in question are valuable parts of good trip prep. There is a website for the book where people can submit changes or inaccuracies that they have discovered - this helps to keep the guide current. All in all one of the best we've looked at.

Purchased this book so my wife and I could do some canoeing in Connecticut. The book is pretty good. Some of the rivers they mention are not deep enough in the rainy season to float a boat. One example is the river in Devils Hopyard. The book lists it as a deep enough river to paddle on. I hike there all the time. It has never been deep enough for a trip on the river. To shallow, and narrow.

If you are going to canoe in Maine, this book is a good starting point to orient yourself.

Required reading for those with boats in or visiting Maine. Thank you AMC.

ok book for basic travel around river play in maine. no maps. need a gazetteer to go with it. price is right.

A ton of great info to have if there are rivers you have been thinking about exploring but werent sure if it was worth the drive. I bought it just for 2 rivers, nad now am hoping to check out 2 other ones this summer. A kind of guide you can browse through and get ideas from.

Very usefull. Could be a little clearer. You must read carefully. May not be for the novice.

Such a cute read! I'm from Maryland and if you believe, half of us feel we are Southern and half do not! So I was rightly confused all of my 48 years though my heart always ached for Southern wisdom. After reading this book, and with all of the clever sayings dotted throughout it's official, I'm southern through and through! The book is well-written and is a true homage to the the authors mom. It flows from her youth to her own marriage & children at a fast pace. It's a delightful read. The only negatives is it references some things from 2007 the big Britney Spears shaving her head, and that dated the book. Editor should have caught that, especially for advice books, as they are usually read & reread for years to come. She also didn't touch on the subject of men do NOT do women's work at all ever in the South. We all know that, so OWN it! It's okay, it's charming! I can't wait to read her other books. And I will just keep it to myself that yes Marylanders put Old Bay on everything! And is usually the secret ingredient in casseroles, fried chicken, and deviled eggs! Hon!

Absolutely loved this book! I’m not southern, unless I can claim being from Southern California. A lot of this book struck home from my own mother. I could hear her saying those very things!

I took these books to a family reunion, and they kept disappearing, until I heard a crowd laughing. That's how I tracked my books!

Having been born in the South and raised by a Southern family...I find this book hilarious! I can hear my mother's voice in nearly every line!

Great book, and full of laughter and great recipes. If you are a southern girl from the 1950's on up you will love reading this book and laughing !!

Shellie took me back home with her wonderful recounts of Southernisms. Although I grew up in the same generation as her daughter, many of those Southern sayings stand the test of time. She is witty, charming, and wise. A true Southern Belle who makes you feel just as welcome in her book as she would her home. The recipes as the end of each chapter are just icing on the cake.

If you were raised in the South, you should have written this book. You have lived it no doubt! So many memories of things mamma and grandma would say. It's a fun read and she adds some interesting recipes as well. Easy breezy summer read.

So funny and reminiscent of my life growing up with a southern mama. Lots of laughs and some recipes also.

I am thinking this book will help me realize what I have been missing.To me it is like having a secret weapon but never spiritually prophetically "pulling the trigger" so to speak in proclaiming the events of The Cross to our spiritual enemies.(just wish the whole book was available on Kindle)

I bought the Roses & Tattoos book thinking it was a continuation of the Princess Ai series. It's not even a manga! But that's ok! It was a nicely bound hard cover that opened into a spiral bound "note book." It was a couple regular pages of introduction then quite a few oversized-baseball type cards inside plastic sleeves containting full art work (and some never before seen art) with poems by DJ Milky on the back. I gave this 3 stars because the poems were no where near as good as Courtney Love's awesome lyrics throughout the Princess Ai manga. I could say they were catchy poems, but mostly they just contained those sorts of melancholy key words that pepper secular goth fiction. There were also 9 pages of stickers, but it was the same 3 pages repeated.

Just like how I remembered it. Wanted it for the stickers. All was in order.

It feels a little over priced (and that's at $12). The case is nice but once you open it up, it feels cheap. It has a few pic's not seen in the manga (about ten) but they lack the flare that normally comes with the Ai's art. The poems are not the best but entertaining none the less. I would say buy if you really like the series and you want a TON of repeating stickers.

Not what I was expecting. It came with some stickers and cheep prints.

As soon as I saw Ai's sparkling, jewel colored eyes peering at me from the front, I had to add this to my Ai collection!Despite the title, this does not contain temporary tattoos; the title is just a nod to Ai's style. It contains color fan art, nine pages of stickers (3 sets of 3), post card sized prints of color artwork (some unreleased), and on the back of each of these prints is a poem by DJ Milky. Some are, admittedly, a bit silly, but others are actuallly quite interesting. Also, I don't know if it is how all of them are or if I have a copy with a neat little packaging error, but mine has two copies of the artwork of Ai clinging onto Jen after touching the tenketsu box. I'm actually really happy about this! I love little errors like that.As happy as I am to have it, I will admit I would't pay over about ten dollars for it. I got it at Waldenbooks when they were going out of business on sale, so I paid about 8.99 for it. It's nice for the color pictures, but to be honest they could have done a lot more with this. Perhaps included some manga extras, or some information, almost like a guide to the series. It's worth purchasing, just don't overpay.

I thought there were going to be temporary tattoos in this "book" and there are not so fyi there are no tattoos in the Roses and Tattoos book dont be fooled like me!

I had expected artwork from the movie or at least similar enough in style to be recognizable. It's nowhere close. It also contains scenes that aren't even in the movie. For example, Spider-man being held by the neck by a horned demon sort of character. No idea where that came from. There's no publisher information on the book at all so it's hard to tell if this is a rip off or an officially licensed product. In any case, don't go into it expecting anything but the vaguest similarity to the movie.Also, the product details say 84 pages and the description says 41 coloring pages. Both are correct. The back of each image is blank.
