This is a challenging review to write because I have mixed feelings about the DVD. Let me start with my bias: I really like both Wayne Dyer and Esther Hicks. I find them very positive, uplifting, and insightful. I already own a lot of their books and DVD's and I am very familiar with their philosophy and stories. I was looking forward to this "super conversation" I expected them to have. This DVD is set up like a typical Esther Hicks/Abraham session, but instead of audience members asking questions, Wayne Dyer asks the questions. So it's about 3 hours of a conversation/Q&A session between the two. And that's where I found some challenges. While the conversation was interesting, I didn't really learn much new from this interaction. Dr. Dyer told many of the stories and anecdotes he has told before. He spent a fair amount of time on his past challenges, with Abraham (Esther) helping him reinterpret his observations or perceptions of the situations. For instance, Dyer talked a lot about his father and reconciling his anger from the past. It was fun to watch Abraham's responses to his thinking-- Dyer was challenged to view things differently and you could tell he was not expecting Abraham's reactions to his stories. At times I felt like I was observing a therapy session rather than a conversation, but that was actually enjoyable and unique. Many of Abraham's points were points that have been made before-- about contrast, the law of attraction, trying not to paddle upstream, etc. If that is new to you, this disc will be a very enlightening and interesting program. It's not new to me, and I think that's where I was a little disappointed. I was hoping to hear new thoughts and new insights given the talents of these two individuals.So...this DVD is well-produced, interesting for fans, and enlightening I'm sure for individuals new to the conversation. Just don't expect terrific new insights if you're already well-familiar with their works.
Two of my favorite teachers come together in a question-and-answer format. I've followed Abraham for years and I can never get enough of hearing their explanation of the questions of life. My journey in discovering the law of attraction took many years and I've studied many prospectives and I've found Abraham's to be clear and consistent. I've long stopped concerning myself with where the message is coming from and learned to tune into the message and every aspect of my life has improved as a result.I recommend this book for anyone searching for the truth behind the LOA "movement". I've found most of the other material has been so scrubbed for mainstream consumption that it is virtually meaningless. I'm a skeptic but I know there's more to life than what we see--we all do--and the search for answers comes naturally to any intelligent person. For me, I enjoyed hearing Abraham's message given as answers to Dr. Dyer's very thoughtful questions. A very good read, I wish it were longer!
The idea of Dr. Wayne Dyer and Abraham-Hicks coming together was a great idea. The questions asked and the answers given were spot on. I devoured this book in one sitting. I will read it again and pass it on to someone who is ready to receive these answers.
This was a quick little read. I give 3 stars only because I feel like the information in the book is the same content available for free on Youtube ( as Ive found with "Estherham's" other books) I feel like the exchange that comprised this book could have just been sold as a CD or made available online with everything else. I think that those who are familiar with the teachings of Abraham will not find much of anything new in this book. 'Abraham' even tells the story about the blue glass, butterflies and feather; a story they have told over and over in the seminars. However, someone who is brand new to the Hicks books/seminars may find this book totally fascinating.
I was really looking forward to this book! I absolutely LOVE Wayne Dyer, I've read everything he's written & I enjoy Abraham too. They could have really used this opportunity to do such wonderful work & instead Wayne spoke about his past & himself. It was still great to hear, but not as helpful as it could have been - such a HUGE opportunity lost.
I am a fan of both Abraham and Wayne Dyer over many years. The wisdom of Abraham and their reactions to Dr. Dyer's often-told same sad life stories were spot-on. Abraham gave Dyer some information and points of view of his past that amazed and confounded him. Dr. Dyer comes across as egotistical for most of the DVD, droning on and on about himself, beating the drums of negativity. Too much time was wasted on his stories, which Abraham normally would not have tolerated from audience members in their seminars. However, Dyer asked some great questions from his extensive knowledge of historical philosophers when he managed to stop talking about himself. Abraham was wonderful, imparting wisdom as usual, but fans of Dr. Dyer will be disappointed in him.
Positive, thought-provoking, enlightening material, as always from Abraham-Hicks. I am not a big fan of Wayne Dyer's style, but this collaboration was interesting. I would have liked more Abraham and less Wayne, however. I find his colossal ego a little off-putting, but it didn't ruin the fine material presented in this book. It is a little brief for the price.
Simply the best, most concise explanation I've seen/read of manifesting. It turned my head around, esp. about harboring any old grievances...some of which I'd "nurtured" for years! What a mistake!Could have been using more of my focus on bringing the lovely things into my life that do come ~ and would have come in muchmore abundance ~ if I had not been distracted by those ad infinitum replays. Interesting take at the end of the interview on ourfrustration with Monsanto and other polluters of our food supply and what our role should be in correcting the situation...forgetMonsanto and buy organic.... and be thrilled with the new proliferation of healthy organic food created by the counter-movement.
