I was hoping this manual would provide recommendations on how to set up the Kindle, interface with a PC, add and remove programs, suggest programs for use, etc. It really did nothing more than provide a very basic commentary on the Kindle Fire and a brief explanation of how to connect it. I realized after purchasing this manual that all I needed to do was to look at the help files available on the Kindle Fire (accessed by pulling down the hidden menu), and there I got all the answers I needed.If someone is totally unfamiliar with tablets and other information technology devices, I'm sure the manual would be helpful; but, it is not something to purchase if you are looking for an in-depth explanation of how to use all the features of the Kindle Fire.
I don't know whether it's because I'm technically challenged or what, but the Manual wasn't much help. I just hoped it would answer my questions on simple things but I didn't get many answers. I love my Kindle Fire but I loved my first Kindle too. It would be nice to have a place or identity to consult for answers. A real person to talk to would be terrific. Do you suppose that might happen? Oh well, I would never complain, you asked me to respond.

I received my Kindle as a gift and didn't even know how to turn it on...So I thought there would be a written manual as they had in the GOOD old days for people that are not up on these kind of things you could open and read so you could begin at the beginning..HOW TO TURN IT ON.. You had to be able to do that before you can get the information you are looking for from it....But my sister was able to start me off.
There were several new tips I discovered about my faithful old tablet, but I was intending to give this book as a gift to my daughter. She is getting her first tablet at the age of forty. What I was expecting was a MANUAL for using a Kindle Fire HD. You know, basic how-to information specifically for the Kindle. It was not until page 179 before I felt anything useful to a first-time user appeared. I kept searching and hoping, but there was just too little too late.
I am extremely disappointed in this manual. As a new Kindle Fire owner, I already have access to manuals and help when wifi is turned on. I didn't need that. I expected this to be like any other Kindle book I purchase; that is, when I open the book, I can read it. This time when I tried to open it on a commuter train, I received a message that I could only read it if I connected to wifi. So, essentially, this is useless to me; it adds nothing more than I can access without having made this purchase.
This was a great teaching tool. I wish this manual and the material in it had been included within the Kindle Fire HD package when l received it in the mail. This would have saved me a great deal of time. Instead, I spent more hours than I wanted to "Hunting" for answers.I am glad that I had enough computer experience to help me through. So I just kept on digging things out an did quite well.Thank you David; it was a great help,r
This is an excellent resource for new Kindle Fire HD owners. I bought my dad a Kindle Fire HD for Christmas and wanted him to have a very good experience with it (he is NOT a techie) and purchased this guide to load on it for him. It is very comprehensive and easy to read. It provides clear instructions on how to set up the device, load music and books on it, watch videos on it and maximize it's functionality as a tablet. If you are new to Kindle Fire (or new to the HD model), I definitely recommend this book!
