THE KINDLE VERSION IS NOT THE NFPA 70 CODE! It's some power point looking book for a lecture on the NFPA 70 code, very weird. I want my $8.99 back.
Do not buy the spiral bound version. Get the paperback. The rings are bent and it's difficult and annoying to flip through it. Also little bits of paper go all over the place because the bent spirals tears the holes in the pages. It's also larger and more difficult to stack or put on a shelf. Even the print quality is poor with a lot of faded text. I'm ready to just throw it away and only use the paperback.Furthermore the tabs (purchased separately) should come with it. It's one of the worst laid out books I've ever used until you stick on all the tabs which makes it easier to find chapters/subjects.
I really wanted to like the spiral bound version of the NEC. However, the copy I got had terrible print quality to the point that some of the pages were difficult to read and then there were numerous pages that were misaligned with the binding. At first I was going to ignore these faults but as I was putting on the color coded "EZ Tabs" I noticed a problem that could not be ignored. There were 30 - 40 pages completely missing. It was at that point I decided to return the spiral bound format and bought the softbound format. I can deal with the book not laying flat as I am researching the code I need. To be honest this almost seems like someone got a PDF copy of the NEC and just haphazardly printed off a bunch of copies with a crappy binding tool and said "here you go".
The rings were all bentfrom shipping making it hard to open. The top ring holes have already ripped and I've only had it a few days
Wish I would have read some of the other reviews first. The Kindle version isn't actually the book, but some mixed-up slideshow. Amazon, you really should return anyone's money who ordered this based on the description provided.
Figured I would invest in the binder version this time, so I could add pages, etc. Wrong. Binder has 5 rings! How am I gonna punch the pages I want to add?Otherwise, this book has just gotten too big. Needs to be split into 2 volumes, one for just residential stuff. Maybe even a separate one for solar stuff (energy storage, etc).
Do not buy, this is not NEC 2017. It is a set of PowerPoint slides explaining NEC 2017
The book itself is great, my husband is an electrician and it is a great source of information. We ordered from the NFPA seller/company through Amazon and had great customer service. There was a slight mix up and they fixed it immediately. I was very impressed with the customer service and the product. The spiral bound edition is great, it lays flat and will last for a long time.
